Apple has been seeding Mac OS X 10.5.7 9J27 to developers now for about a week and this raises the all important question: When is it being released? 10.5.7 includes some seriously major fixes as it seems to be Apple’s trademark to release 200 new features and 150 new bug fixes (Verses Microsoft releasing 200 new bugs and 150 counterproductive features). Safari 4 (Beta) still only installs on systems displaying the 10.5.6 version, though this will be fixed for release time and allow further development on the new Safari to continue on a brand new release. A lot of the major fixes make our favorite areas of OS X better, including LoginWindow, Time Capsule, MobileMe, and sleep/wake functions.
Only time will tell when it’s going to be released, but you’ll be sure to find a guide on it as soon as it’s released showing you how to install/upgrade to Mac OS X 10.5.7 on your Dell Inspiron 1525 (and possibly others). I’m probably going to base it off of the “XxX” 10.5.6 DVD so be sure to grab that just in case, although Combo Update should work just fine if you’re booting with Chameleon and the vanilla kernel on any build (Kalyway, iDeneb, iPC, etc.).

Apple Insider also reports that “[10.5.7] reportedly boasts nearly six dozen code corrections.” I could be wrong but that does not sound good. No, in fact im pretty sure that code corrections = bad.

Word on the street is Mac OS X 10.5.7 *will* be released during the month of April as claimed by many other blogs, including Apple Insider. It has been code named “Juno.”

I didn’t have CS4 installed though. And I searched for Opera with no results.

The Opera downloading torrents thing when it’s not installed is because it is actually installed (obviously has to be) when installing Adobe CS4 Suite. Check for Opera.app in cs4.

Good ol’ Opera.

You should also wipe your hard drive with DBAN (google it). When you install over old partitions, some really weird things can happen (like Opera offering to download torrents when it’s not even installed).

I would if it’s possible. Back everything up and install 10.5.6. You’ll be better off in the long run and have less problems.

Should I do a new install (wipe everything)?
Thanks

Absolutely. That’s the exact version I run right now.

Hey Richard,
I was just wondering if this is compatibale with the Inspiron 1525 (link at bottom) and all the kalyway drivers would work with it. By the way it says that it only works for pc, thanks.
