It’s one of the most important user interface elements in Max OS X, and Apple has patented it. There are programs for Windows (and Linux) that try to emulate it. Some hate it, others love it. That’s right, it’s the Dock. So I was wondering how you prefer your dock to behave. Do you have it hidden? Is it on the bottom or the side? Do you even use it? Tell us in the comments.
Personally, I prefer it on the bottom and I switch between the pseudo-3D and the transparent black look.

I have the dark “Midnight Dock” installed. It’s a little glossier than the default dock and a lot darker, easier on my eyes and it makes the dock icons look more vivid and clear. I’m a designer, and something I look at needs to be worth the look.

I have the transparent 3D look with the dock hidden on the bottom. I use it pretty frequently although not as often as I once did because I have applied shortcuts for nearly all my programs (and i remember them all too)
