Intrepid Mac is back, and we want you!

The Internet

Remember Intrepid Mac? That website I started like five months ago and then abandoned due to laziness? Well, it’s back, and it’s stronger. The new philosophy of Intrepid Mac is to provide you the news in the quickest form possible, without any fluff. This accomplishes two things: 1) You get the main headlines fast, and 2) it reduces the effort it takes to make posts, so we can make more of them.

To get to this nirvana of quick-posting, we’ve moved over to Posterous from WordPress. Posterous is a simple blogging platform that uses email instead of web-based editors, and I love it. Instead of opening a browser window, loading a New Post editor, and uploading images and crap, I could just open Mail.app, hit Cmd-N for a new message, drag any images from a browser, and hit send. It takes a lot less time, plus I don’t have to futz with the images to make them fit, as Posterous does this for me. We’ve been cranking out posts on Intrepid Mac for a couple of weeks now, and we’re up to about 2,000 site views and 108 posts.

I’ve been toying with the idea of inviting other people to contribute to the site. If you’re interested in joining Intrepid Mac, email me at fakejournalist [at] gmail.com and we’ll get talkin’.
